About 3 years ago, I took in a rescue, a Jack Russell mix.  Sammy came with issues.  He had separation anxiety, was fearful of fireworks, thunder and pretty much all loud noises.  He did not do well in new environments or with new dogs and people.  He would follow me everywhere, crying when I was not in close proximity.  About 2 months ago, I learned of Cindy by searching for a dog trainer in my area.  She must have been God sent because my love for Sammy means so much that I was willing to fly across this great country to find him help, and yet help came from within my own back yard, per se.

Cindy is an inspiration!  Her gentle techniques are superb!  Sammy who was afraid of new environments loves going to her home for training classes every Saturday.  He has warmed up to her, something he has never done with anyone but me.  The clicker method is fantastic. She had him listening to her within minutes.  He no longer follows me like a lonely pup.  He even goes to my husband, which he never used to do.  No more accidents in the house.  He comes when I call him.  I can even see a smile on his face when he is at Cindy’s.

I plan to continue taking Sam to the sessions with Cindy, regardless of how far he goes with his training.  Although, he’s come a long way, I can see that when he is in class he brightens up.  The clicker training allows him to focus on the task at hand.  Clicker training helps build a great foundation.  There is no doubt that the sessions with Cindy where we use positive reinforcement training, is the best training a dog can get.  Several years ago, I had 2 full blooded German Shepherds.  We decided to take them for training classes.  We took them to a different training facility a little further, where they require the use of the pitch collar.  We attended 3 classes and were asked to leave because the trainer was almost bitten by one of our shepherds.  Most trainers know not to walk straight towards a dog and his owner.  This trainer did, and of course my dog’s reaction was to attack.  How is the dog to know that he was just reaching for the lead?  As far as my dog knew, the trainer was reaching to physically hurt his us.  We never returned.  Also, training with Cindy is one on one.  Training at this other place consisted of a group of 6 to 10 other dogs and their owners.  The one on one sessions with Cindy have helped Sammy and I learn about each other, about our limitations and on how far we can go.  I am truly grateful for Cindy!  If you love your dog, as I do mine, and you know he needs guidance, contact Cindy.  She can do wonders with you and your dog.
